Mattene Lipsticks are a lipstick revolution. I love the way they feel, they actually feel like nothing at all.
Here are a few swatches on my brown skin.
(Right to Left) Immodest, Rougette, Classic Dame, Night Violet, Composure, Flattering, Cafe Matte.
I wore Classic Dame yesterday with Velvetella Cremestick liner, and it was a great combination. The color lasted for 5 hours, I took it off to try something new.

I Googled ‘African American +mattene compusure’ and I’m glad I did. It is so helpful to see the colors on brown skin. I’m new to makeup blogs but not to MAC. I have bookmarked your page. Seeing the colors on your arm and you reading your thoughts on the colors are so helpful.
I was stuck in my 10 year old purple phase and really had only considered Night Violet but it is good to hear that you like Classic Dame, because I wanted to try a red, but was scared. I have not worn red since senior year of high school over 10 years ago (during my EnVogue phase). I’ll be checking back for updates, this MAC stuff is addictive.
Love the shades you show. Likewise about red. Red clashes for me which was proved after taking part in a colour testing experiment. Thanks.
